Dr. Ajay Mahajan graduated from Govt Medical College, Nagpur in 1988 with a Gold Medal in the Final MBBS Exams. After obtaining his doctorate (DM) in Cardiology from L T M Medical College & General Hoispital in Mumbai, Dr. Mahajan has been working in high-volume teaching hospitals since 1996. He has performed over 5,000 angioplasties, some of which were complex, involving rotablation, bifurcation stenting and CTO. He has vast experience in interventions in valvular heart disease - Mitral Stenosis, Aortic Stenosis and Pulmonary Stenosis.  He has carried out a large number of aortic coarctation stenting interventions as well as ASD, VSD, PDA and transcatheter interventions. Dr. Mahajan is recognised as an authority on single- and dual chamber pacemaker implantation and renal artery stenting.

Since 2002, Dr. Mahajan has served as a Guide for DM (Cardiology) students and is also part of the panel of examiners for the DM Cardiology course.
